If any metropolis qualifies as the golf course mecca of the Sunshine State, it's Naples. The tip-off comes along U.S. Highway 41, the region's main north-south thoroughfare, where a tastefully landscaped sign heralding the arrival of yet another gated private golf community is found at nearly every intersection between Naples and Bonita Springs.

3 - Calusa Pines - Rated one of the best modern golf courses in 2006 by Golf week magazine, the Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry design golf course is must for any serious golfer. The 18-hole "Calusa Pines" course at the Calusa Pines Golf Club facility in Naples, Florida features 7,215 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Calusa Pines features outstanding vistas generated by sweeping ridges that influences ten golf holes. The landforms are so soft, and flowing that they blend in well enough to appear natural and unique. Combined with extensive native plant vegetation it is difficult to imagine the golf course was built, instead of simply laid out on this superb piece of land. Calusa Pines was founded to provide an exceptional golf experience for its members in a relaxed atmosphere that promotes camaraderie among those who truly love the game. The club doesn’t release membership information, has no tee times, and features a strong caddie program as members and guests are encouraged to walk the course.

Members at the ultra-exclusive club will expect the best. Membership is by invitation only, and will be limited to only 275 members. Membership includes, Calusa Pines members will get a golf-only facility, an exclusive clubhouse, and the service of caddies.

2 – Fiddler’s Creek - Fiddler’s Creek offers golfers a truly unique experience. The private golf club at Fiddler's Creek will offer an incredible 54 holes of championship golf to its members. The Creek Course at Fiddler's Creek is a masterpiece of design by acclaimed golf course architect Arthur Hills. The course provides players of all skill levels a superb golfing experience. 1 – Tiburón: The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort - Finally the Tiburón golf course at the Ritz Carlton can not go unrecognized. The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples was named the No. 15 golf resort by Golf Digest in its "75 Best Golf Resorts in America" for 2006. Golf Digest's 2006 list is published in the magazine's December issue, and Tiburon already is ranked by Golfweek as one of "America's Best Residential Courses".

Tiburón is a Greg Norman-designed 27-hole course has tangerine-colored coquina sand in bunkers, stacked-sod wall bunkers; native habitat bordering fairways, forced carries over water and wetlands. Target-style layout has no rough: Highest turf is maintained at fairway height of one-half inch. Recently, Tiburon played host to the Merrill Lynch Shootout, a PGA Tour-sanctioned event.
