Marco Island is located at the northernmost point of the picturesque Ten Thousand Islands and just south of Naples, Florida. “Marco” as the locals call it has managed a delicate balance between the quiet tropical island living of Olde Florida and the excitement of being one of Florida’s hottest vacation destinations.

Marco Island is graced with miles of white-sand beaches, luxurious high-rise condos, beautiful year-round weather, variety restaurants, fine shopping, dining, lively entertainment, attractions and plenty of recreational activities from boating and fishing, to golf and tennis, and more. All set amid the stunning subtropical beauty that is unique to Southwest Florida's Gulf coast. From family vacations to a romantic rendezvous for two, Marco Island, Florida offers visitors more than just plenty of sunshine.

Most visitors arriving to Southwest Florida will fly into Southwest Florida Regional airport located in Fort Myer’s Florida. It is just a short drive south on I-75 to Marco Island. Get off I-75 at Collier Boulevard; this is the last exit prior to crossing the everglades heading towards Miami. Drive south on Collier Boulevard until you cross the Judge Jolly Bridge, which has a picturesque view of the entire island.

Once on Marco Island there are plenty of activities to do. The two public accesses to the beaches are Tigertail Beach and the Marco Island South Beach. Tigertail offers great facilities including a café, children’s playground, public bathrooms, and kayaks and boats for hire. The south beach access has less parking but has plenty of action. The south end of the Marco Island beach is where locals and visitors go to sun and swim. Parking is four dollars at both public beach accesses.

Other activities found on Marco Island are boating and fishing. Boats can be hired at Marco Marina and fishing Charters can be found there as well.

Marco Island offers a great variety of restaurants, cafes, and dinners. If you are looking for authentic Italian dining in an elegant and contemporary atmosphere try Di Vinci’s, located at the Marco Walk. Other restaurants’ located at the Marco Walk are Capt’n Brien’s seafood and raw bar, Nacho Mama’s Mexican Restaurant, Five Brother’s Italian Pizzeria and Cathy ’O Clarkes Irish Pub. For great sushi, stop by The Fat Pelican, located next to Cathy ’O Clarkes Irish Pub. Great music and entertainment can be found at Windjammers, Cathy ‘O Clarkes, and Blu Fusion. Capt’n Brien’s offers great stand up comedy for those with a sense of humor. The Sand Bar offers a great atmosphere to watch sports games, and Sand Bar has a great grouper sandwich too.
